Palomar 11 - Globular Cluster - Class XI

Palomar 11 is a Class XI Globular Cluster.   The Palomar Clusters are some of the faintest globular clusters in the Milky Way.  The majority of them were discoved in the 1950's by reviewing survey plates from the Palomar Observatory. Only two, Palomar 7 and 9 were observed earlier.  There are 15 total Palomar Clusters.  Palomar 11 was discovered by American Astronomer A.G.Wilson in 1955.  It is located in the constellation Aquila at 19h 45m 14.4 RA, -08o 00m 26s DEC.  It is 17,600 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 9.8. The best time to observe Palomar 11 is in the Summer.
