NGC 6638 - Globular Cluster - Class VI

NGC 6638 is a Class VI Globular Cluster.  It was discovered by British Astronomer William Herschel in 1784.  NGC 6638 is located in the constellation Sagittarius at 18h 30m 56.2s RA, -25o 29m 45s DEC.  It is 31,300 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 9.5. The best time to observe NGC 6638 is in the Late Summer.
