NGC 6544 - Globular Cluster - Class V

NGC 6544 is a Class V Globular Cluster.   It is a small cluster and is less than 1 degree from M8, the Lagoon Nebula. It was discovered by British Astronomer William Herschel in 1784.  NGC 6544 is located in the constellation Sagittarius at 18h 07m 21s RA, -24o 59m 50s DEC.  It is 9,450 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 9.0. The best time to observe NGC 6544 is in the late Summer.
