NGC 6517 - Globular Cluster - Class IV

NGC 6517 is a Class IV Globular Cluster.   It was discovered by British Astronomer William Herschel in 1784.  NGC 6517 is located in the constellation Ophiuchus at 18h 01m 50.5s RA, -08o 57m 31.6s DEC.  It is 34,600 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 10.2. The best time to observe NGC 6517 is in the Late Summer.
