NGC 6440 - Globular Cluster - Class V

NGC 6440 is a Class V Globular Cluster.  It was discovered by British Astronomer William Herschel in 1786.  NGC 6440 is located in the constellation Sagittarius at 17h 48m 52.7s RA, -20o 21m 36.9s DEC.  It is 27,700 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 10.1. The best time to observe NGC 6440 is in the Late Summer.
