M110 - Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy

M110 is a Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy that is a satellite of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31).  It was never included in the original Messier Catalog but was shown is his drawings of M31 and M32.  It was first seen by Messier in 1773 and was independently discovered by German Astronomer Caroline Herschel in  1783.  M110 has at least 10 billion stars.  It is located in the constellation Andromeda at 00h 40m 22.1s RA, +41o 41m 07.5s DEC.  It is 2.69 Million Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 8.5. The best time to observe M110 is in the Winter.
