M95 - Spiral Galaxy

M95 or NGC 3351 is a barred spiral galaxy.  It was discovered by French Astronomer Pierre Mechain in 1781.  M95 has at least 40 billion stars and is 2,000 light years in diameter.  It is located in the constellation Leo at 10h 43m 57.7s RA, +11o 42m 14s DEC.  It is 32.6 Million Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 9.7. The best time to observe M95 is in the early Spring.
