M86 - Elliptical Galaxy in th Virgo Super Cluster

M86 is an Elliptical Galaxy in the Virgo Super Cluster.  The Super Cluster contains at least 100 galaxy groups located in a 110 million Light Year diameter.  The Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy are included in the Super Cluster.  M86 is at the heart of the Virgo Cluster. It was discovered by French Astronomer Charles Messier in 1781.  M86 is located in the constellation Virgo at 12h 26m 11.7s RA, +12o 56m 46s DEC.  It is 52 Million Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 8.9. The best time to observe M86 is in the late Spring.  Some of the other Galaxies in this frame are NGC 4425, NGC 4388, NGC 4387, M84 and NGC 4402.
