M84 - Elliptical Galaxy in th Virgo Super Cluster

M84 is an Elliptical Galaxy in the Virgo Super Cluster.  The Super Cluster contains at least 100 galaxy groups located in a 110 million Light Year diameter.  The Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy are included in the Super Cluster.  M84 had two supernovas, one in 1957 and the other in 1991. It was discovered by French Astronomer Charles Messier in 1781.  M84 is located in the constellation Virgo at 12h 25m 03.7s RA, +12o 53m 13.1s DEC.  It is 54.9 Million Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 9.1. The best time to observe M84 is in the late Spring.
