M48 - Open Cluster

M48, is an open star cluster.  It was discovered by French Astronomer Charles Messier in 1771.  M48 is located in the constellation of Hydra at 08h 13m 43s  RA, -5o 45m 00s DEC.  It is 2500 Light Years away and has a visual magnitude of 5.8. The best time to observe M45 is in the Early Spring.
