M30 - Globular Cluster - Class V

M30 is a Class V Globular Cluster.  It is one of the brightest globular clusters and is also one of the nearer to Earth.   It was discovered by French Astronomer Charles Messier in 1764.  It about 90 light-years in diameter.   M30 is located in the constellation Capricornus at 21h 40m 21.1s RA, -23o 10m 47.5s DEC.  It is 27,100 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 7.2. The best time to observe M22 is late Fall and Early Winter.
