M29 - Open Cluster

M29 is an small, bright Open Cluster of stars. It is located near the intersection of the Northern Cross (Cygnus the Swan).  It was discovered by French Astronomer Charles Messier in 1764.  M29 is located in the constellation Cygnus at 20h 23m 56s RA, +38o 31m 24 DEC.  It is 3,740 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 7.1. The best time to observe M29 is late Fall and Early Winter.
