M25 - Open Cluster

M25 is bright Open Star Cluster.  It contains about 601 stars of which 60 of them are visible with an 8" scope.  It was discovered by Swiss Astronomer Jean-Philippe Loys de Cheseaux in 1745.   M25 is located in the constellation Sagittarius at 18h 31m 47.0s RA, -19o 07m 00s DEC.  It is 2,000 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 4.6. The best time to observe M25 is late Summer.
