M13 - The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules - Class V

M13 - The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules that was discovered by English Astronomer Edmond Halley in 1714.  It is one of the brightest star clusters visible in the Northern Hemisphere.  It is 168 light-years in diameter and contains about 300,000 stars.   M13 is located in the constellation Hercules at 16h 41m 41.2s RA, +36o 27m 35.5 DEC and is 20' arc minutes. It is 22,200 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 5.8. The best time to observe M13 is mid Summer.
