M1 - Crab Nebula

M1 - The Crab Nebula is a Supernova remnant that was first observed in 1054AD by Chinese astronomers.  It got to -6 magnitude and was visible in the daylight for 23 days. It was discovered by English astronomer John Bevis in 1731.  M1 is located in the constellation Taurus at 5h 34m 31.9s RA, +22o 00m 52.2s DEC and is 8'x4' arc minutes. It is 6500 Light Years from Earth, and has a visual magnitude of 8.4.
